Cooperation in Home Healthcare Routing

The demand for home healthcare is growing while skilled personnel is missing. Together with health insurance company AOK, we investigate how high--quality home healthcare services can be ensured in the future. To this end, we aim on improving working conditions for nurses and on reducing inefficient travel. To reduce stress, we survey individual nurse preferences, e.g., with respect to driving and medical tasks. We then develop data-driven planning mechanisms, taking the individual preferences into account. Furthermore, we investigate how collaboration between different home healthcare providers may allow for more efficient travel between patients. We analyze how such collaborations can be established and how they may impact patients, nurses, and providers.
